Comics for Peace

In February, Asfar took part in a peace building and conflict transformation seminar hosted by CRISP in Berlin, and I was lucky enough to take part. We met a group of inspiring young people from Georgia, Azerbaijan, Russia, Ukraine and Moldova who had been trained by CRISP to deliver peace building programmes with young people … Continued

Turkey, Canakkale – The Gallipoli Project

In July 2016 I participated in an Asfar Erasmus+ trip to Turkey, and I am happy to say this was one of the best trips I had ever partaken in. This trip was held after only a few days after the attempted coup by Turkish forces; however, despite the political unrest before our arrival, I … Continued

Evropa2Evraziis

The youth exchange in Baku and Istanbul (during the attempted Coup, no less) were two of the most life changing experiences so far for us. Every young person should complete an Erasmus+ Youth Exchange. It is a once in a lifetime experience and so much fun!

Erasmus+ for all!

Had a great time during Erasmus+ UK-Eurasia in Baku. Everyone should do an Erasmus+ Youth Exchange.

Visiting Baku

Visiting Baku was an unforgettable and amazing experience while being part of youth exchange Evropa2Evraziis. We’ve learnt a lot about cultural similarities and differences, also it was a great opportunity to share our experience and history with each other. I would recommend an Erasmus+ youth exchange to every person who wants to develop their life … Continued

Great experience

We all really enjoyed hosting the Erasmus+ Evropa2Evraziis Youth Exchange in Baku, especially meeting lots of people from different cultures, learning about different societies and developing our communication skills. Here is one photo of us getting the hostel ready.

My experience in Israel

Visiting Israel, and being hosted by the wonderful, Interfaith Encounter Association , was a very informative experience that really enhanced my understanding of the many cultural, historical and religious complexities of the region. The participants in Israel, were so friendly and so knowledgeable, which made this encounter, more than simply a trip, but rather a … Continued

Great learning experience

As a Youth Worker, it was a great experience for me to learn about transnational youth work and the learning opportunities available to young people through Erasmus+, especially culture, languages and skills. To see the outcomes of Inspire Europe in Istanbul, especially how  young people engaged and picked up new words in different languages! I … Continued

Turkey

The programme in Istanbul was a really worthwhile opportunity to meet other young people from the UK and Turkey. Everyone seemed to enjoy getting together and learning more about each other’s cultures, and realising our shared interests and experiences. Erasmus+ is a fantastic experience and I would strongly recommend it to anyone who is even … Continued

Istanbul

I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Istanbul. My research into the youth sector, youth unemployment and cultural learning provided me with some unique experiences and striking comparisons. Overall, I enjoyed learning about Turkey from Takim Yildizi,  observing the architecture in the city as well as being told stories about it’s cultural history.

Culture in Turkey

Amazing experience, I really appreciated the opportunity provided to me by Asfar and Erasmus+ to learn about the Youth Sector in Istanbul. Outside of the activity, I loved the way in which Turkish people drank tea, I found it to be something that was used as a massive hospitality tool, while building communities together.
