I had a great opportunity to take part in a short-term placement with Home for Cooperation and Asfar. I really enjoyed my time in Cyprus, and I was involved in the assistance and coordination of the Buffer Fringe Festival – a theatre festival that takes place in Nicosia, Cyprus across both sides of the dividing line.
I was hosted by Home for Cooperation – and the experience was really enriching. I gained a new insight and approach to how arts can be used in a peace and reconciliation setting. I also had the opportunity to learn about Cyprus, its rich history and culture, and how we can improve our working practices to be more inclusive.
I learned about coordination, management, facilitation, and arts management. I am extending my thanks to Asfar and the whole Home for Cooperation team for their kindness, hospitality and I am really grateful to have had this opportunity and I look forward to returning to Cyprus again soon.
