Introducing Anna Lodeserto, our speaker for the Youth in Peacebuilding panel at the RESOLVE: Network Conference 2024.
Anna Lodeserto, Researcher, Policy Expert, EU Trainer and International Youth Worker has extensive grassroots and research experience in peacebuilding, citizen engagement and youth participation at the local and global levels, particularly in the Western Balkans and Caucasus regions.
She has dedicated her recent research and overall commitment to enhancing collaboration between academia, international institutions, local authorities and civil society. Her work, specifically during her 2023 research period at the University of Sarajevo, has included significant involvement in contributing to the implementation and knowledge of the European Youth Work Agenda in Southeast Europe and Eastern Europe, in particular in the extra-EU Western Balkans countries through the support to the capacity building of youth organisations, community leaders, educators, and civil society actors. She is an active member of the post-conflict research community in the Western Balkans (WB6) and has also been serving for almost a decade the European Commission and the Council of Europe on key youth participation, education areas and cohesion processes concerning the regional development from the perspective of the EU accession.

Anna will discuss the role of youth participation in peacebuilding and contribute to creating common ground to foster and promote peace processes shaped by and for young people. Her expertise in engaging with youth in complex environments will offer valuable perspectives on advancing peace, citizen engagement and cooperation in the Balkans and beyond.
