A Story of Education and Global Citizenship: International Traineeship for 4 months with Anthropolis

For 4 months, I had the opportunity to work with Anthropolis, an einclusive education charity in the heart of Budapest.
This nonprofit organisation helps students, young people, volunteers and teachers in improving their skills and educating them in a variety of topics targeted towards Global Education Goals. These include educational projects and training camps about gender, diversity, ecology and sustainability.

Throughout my time in Anthropolis, I contributed to various EU funded projects about education and had the opportunity to attend two of the events/camps that took place. One of the most prominent memory I have is travelling to Bosnia to attend a free speech and democracy exhibition co-hosted by other charities in Germany, Bosnia, and France. I believe this experience boosted my interpersonal skills and I have made both professional and personal connections that I still stay in contact with. Another unforgettable memory was travelling to Miscolz, another city here in Hungary, to help the organisation deliver a digital storytelling training. Digital storytelling method is a therapuetic method of at home personal film making, which employs the traditional methods of storytelling and film production to convey experiences plainly but effectively to audiences. Attending this training, I have also made my own digital story film, talking about my own personal experiences.

Outside of work, I have organised a charity event where I performed as a musician in order to raise money for Palestine, which was my favourite moment of being here, my friends from other countries also came and supported me. I have learned basic Hungarian skills to help me navigate on the streets and also helped other friends here in developing their creative work, such as organising events and modelling for brands.

My time at Anthropolis was extremely valuable and a period of my life I will always remember, due to the great people at the organisation and all the like-minded people I had the pleasure of meeting here! I am sure that me and Anthropolis will always be in contact.
